Last week was a bit of a slow week for me, reading wise. We had a holiday and that meant cook outs and family time. :) I was able to get in a few good reads. Here they are:
Green Fields: Unity by Adrienne Lecter - 5 Stars*****
United we stand, divided we fall
Once again reunited, the Lucky Thirteen set out to hunt
down their adversaries—only to be met with an entirely new set of unexpected
obstacles. As much as Bree is burning to finally get her revenge, it soon
becomes obvious that on their own they are no match for the forces opposing
them. With giving up not an option, they will have to find a way to bolster
their numbers—or failing that, make the ultimate sacrifice.
The Shadow Children by L C Hibbett - 3 Stars***
Angels, Demons, Guardians, brooding guys with green eyes-
Eighteen-year-old Grace is sick of the lot of them. All she wants is a normal
life, but when tragedy strikes, Grace and her foster family are hurled
head-first into a world of magic, intrigue, and deceit.
As the threads of her life begin to unravel before her
eyes, Grace finds herself at the epicenter of a battle to save those she loves.
In a world built on lies, how far will she have to go to uncover the truth?
The Last Outbreak: Awakening by Jeff Olah - 3 Stars***
No one knew how or where the end of the world started.
Ethan Runner was hungover, pissed off and once again late
for work. He didn't care about anything or anyone, but that was about to change;
it had to.
Six days ago there were reports of a mysterious illness.
People were actually attacking and devouring one another. The world was told
not to worry, that there wasn't a reason to panic, that these were isolated
events.
This morning the human race found out that this was a lie.
The infection took hold quickly and destroyed everything in
its path. Millions perished every hour. Was this nature's way of thinning the
herd, or was this something much more disturbing?
Fatal by Diana Graves - 3 Stars***
In a world of gods and monsters, a young witch will give up
everything to bring a man once blessed by the god Apollo to justice…her brand
of justice.
Raina’s life has never been easy, being a bastard and a
mixed breed always makes things harder. But when a man starts selling a deadly
disease on the street as a cure-all her life takes a turn in a dark direction.
The disease this man is selling is highly contagious. It will cure you. It will
kill you. And it will bring you back. Vampirism.
Raina finds herself and her brothers at the mercy of the
disease, but strangely it only kills them. Her beloved brothers’ lives lay in
ruin amongst those of countless others, and she can no longer trust Seattle PD
to bring the man responsible to justice.
In the end, it’s up to Raina and those who would fight at
her side to slay an immortal of ancient legend gone mad. She cannot save those
he wronged, but she can avenge them, she can stop him. Even if doing so changes
her forever. Her family will forsake her, strangers will praise her, and
ruthless men will take her in as a kindred spirit.
The Renegades 2: Aftermath by Jack Hunt - 3 Stars***
"Non stop action, laughter, and bucket loads of
tension. This is the group you want on your side when the SHTF!"
After surviving a deadly outbreak in the small town of Castle
Rock, Nevada, an even greater nightmare is in store for this daring band of
misfits as they go to Salt Lake City in search of a safe zone. Forced to learn
how to survive in a world gone mad while facing hordes of the dead may not be
the biggest threat in this apocalypse.
That wraps up my week. I hope you found some wonderful reads.
Thanks for stopping by.
Michelle
